Not a big night for the NBA last night, as there were only five games in all. But in those match ups there were two ex Tar Heels playing and that means we are about to do the daily (from now on I hope) post "Heels in the League".
In the first of the two games we have Rasheed Wallace and his Detroit team taking on Portland. For the ex big man from Chapel Hill it was an ok night as he played just under 39 minutes, scoring 11 points and adding 1 rebound. Wallace also had 3 assists and 2 steals on the night. All of that wasn't enough as the Trailblazers (12-6) took the game from the Pistons (10-6) by the final of 96 to 85.
In the other game with another Heel we find yet again one from the Dean Smith era, as Vince Carter leads his team to Phoenix. In the game the New Jersey guard scored 28 points and added 5 rebounds and 2 steals in the 39 minutes of play. The Nets (9-7) beat the Suns (11-7) 117 to 109 in this one.
