It was a pretty light schedule in the National Basketball Association last night, with only four games played. However there were still some ex Tar Heels lacing them up and getting on the hardwoods, so that means there is going to be a report of the "Heels in the League" this morning. So, without further interruptions, here we go...
First game that involved an ex Tar Heel was the Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks, where big man Rasheed Wallace took the floor for the Pistons. Wallace didn't play much at all in this one, regestering only 15 minutes in the match. In that small span the ex Heel didn't score any points, but did rip down seven boards for his team. He also committed three turnovers as well. I guess that is why they call it pre season! Detroit did with the game pretty easily, 111 to 99.
The only other Heel to step onto a court last night was Golden State's Brandon Wright, who's team was playing against the newest franchise of the NBA, Oklahoma City. Wright had just a bit more than 19 minutes of playing time, scoring 9 points off of a 3 for 11 performance in the game and 3 for 4 on the charity stripe. His +/- value was +9 in the game, which is is pretty good. The Warriors won the game going away, by the tally of 122 to 102.There you have it, the round up for Saturday, October 11th 2008, regarding the ex Tar Heels in the NBA. Check back tomorrow for the next update in the 5th Corner's "Heels in the League".
