I read this short blog (Read down a bit for the UNC story) by Goodman (Fox Sports) about how John Wall, a 6'3" 170 lbs. point guard, from Word of God (N.C.) "spurned" head coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels. But there is a lot more to this little story, and I will go on record and say that I am not too convinced of everything that the blog says. I also want to say that other sites/web boards do not see the Goodman blog as very accurate.
The blog continues by saying that while Wall was invited to the Dean Dome for several games, he never bothered to show up. And while this is going to sound mean or rude, as a Tar Heel, if the kid truly did this, I wouldn't want him on the team anyways, no matter how good he is. Second of all, with the type of talent that is coming in to Chapel Hill, it would make sense that you're going to lose some of the players that you're trying to bring into the program.I find it amazing that the top player of the class, as Goodman says in the blog, has its top three teams as: Oregon, Oklahoma State and Baylor. I wish all the best to this young man, who some describe as a Derrick Rose type player, wherever he goes to play in college.
