As one more day passes and the time for North Carolina to play in Saturday's semi final game draws closer and closer head coach Roy Williams and junior forward Tyler Hansbrough took time out from the daily routine yesterday to go and receive the Adolph F. Rupp trophy. In a ceremony done in San Antonio the Commonwealth Athletic Club of Kentucky presented Hansbrough with the Player of the Year, along with HC Bruce Pearl's Coach of the Year.
With the words "Coach Rupp would have love Tyler Hansbrough" head coach Williams presented his star player to the people at the ceremony. To be noted that coach Bruce Pearl also had high praise for the young man out of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Hansbrough joins the other two Heels to ever receive the award (Michael Jordan and Antawn Jamison), making his legacy at Chapel Hill just that more memorable.
